Is this a career for you?Web design requires a combination of art and design, production planning, marketing and visualization skills within the internet. Professional designers can work in design studios or freelance but every web designer must have a basic understanding of all aspects of design and programming. No prior experience is necessary to begin the program, but good art and programming skills are a benefit. Be prepared to learn the basics of design, web page development, programming and production flow.
What you will learn? Understanding and working in a web design environment, creating interactive media, designing screen based graphics that communicates consistent thought processes and understand the dynamics of marketing within the internet media.
Software you will use:Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, and Coldfusion.
Supplemental and elective courses include: Photography, Typography, print design and marketing.
Students can earn an Associated Degree or a Certificate in this program.
